Bali: Island of over commercialization

So 2012 is here and lets summarize this inactive blog, 3 post for 2010 and 9 post for 2011, excellent job to me for still trying to come up with posts to keept this shitty place runnin'!

Okay, my first post of 2012 will be a short-rant-cum-half-assed-review on my recent rrip down to Bali:

1. The view
The panaroma is nice get to see terrace paddy fields at Tegalalang, volcano and its crater lake from Kintamani, but not the goddamn beach. (Pics or it didn't happen? not here now bro, not here)
IMHO, the best beach I saw so far was Nusa Dua. The one at Sanur is too loaded with tourist with rubbish everywhere; Ketewel is an eye-opener for black sand beaches (due to the volcano); Kuta beach with a long-ass coastline of trash and Kedongongan was like an alternative dumping site.

It's like you walk through it and suddenly you wonder, "where the heck did the beach come from to the middle of the rubbish dump?"

2. Traffic
Lots of cars and motorbikes and everything that moves on single-laned 2-way roads that are either pot-holed, obstructed and/or partially destroyed.

Jam till the bikes can't even weave through

3. Super-duper commercialized
a) Due to many tourist coming into Bali at a rate of 112423 people per minute (no proper reference), restaurant, shop houses, hotels, massage and spas, pubs and bars can be found jam packed along beaches or anywhere the tourists might go.
b) Locals appear at tourist hotspots to sell items ranging from sarongs, small sculptures, baskets and newspapers (which are nicely wrapped in transparent bags, showing the latest frontpage but old content behind the covers).
c) Almost everywhere you want to visit requires you to pay a certain amount of entrance fee, especially at temples (with Besakih the worst case scenario)

So would I go back there again?
Meh, Nope, not likely in the forseeable future, although with nice places to see and beautiful culture to experience.

From, the guy who came back from a 4-rainyday, 5-rainynight Bali trip.
Yes, I admit that I went there at the worst possible season too.

Else, everything is nice:
